I Tried 7 Harvest Bowls From Daily Harvest – Did I Like Them? Honest Review

When doing a Harvest Bowls tasting-review, it’s important to me that I keep things neutral and as-they-come. I have also been working hard to reset my tastebuds from needing sugar, to needing veggies. I’m happy to report success with the tastebuds, as I’m craving healthy foods over junk foods.

I tried 7 Harvest Bowls (Daily Harvest Reviews 2023). In this post I am giving my honest tasting review of each one. Did I like them and would I order them again? Let’s do this!

A Quick Note, Before We Get Started

If you have browsed my virtual home that is GirlPlanted.com, you’ll know that I’m in love with Daily Harvest  and typically sing their praises. Because I’m all about full disclosure with my visitors, I do share my honest first impressions and overall thoughts as a tastemaker affiliate. This review post won’t be any different.

I’m going into this tasting review with fresh tastebuds and a love for plant-based foods. I didn’t add anything to the bowls my first several bites, to keep my initial impressions fair. I can’t wait to share my review of each bowl with you and hope it helps you decide to give one or all seven of these a try!

P.S. If you decide to give DH a try, using my tastemaker affiliate code will get ya up to $65 off your first box (CODE: GIRLPLANTED).

Butternut Squash + Chimichurri Harvest Bowls

Organic Ingredients:

  • Butternut Squash
  • Buckwheat
  • Portobello
  • Cremini
  • Spinach
  • Parsley

Yes Or No? Did I Like This Bowl

A resounding YES for this Harvest Bowl.

I cannot tell you enough how much I enjoyed this one. It was love at first bite. I’m such a huge fan of all of the organic ingredients and the flavor combo did not disappoint.

My first bite impression? “Holy Bananas Batman! This is DELISH” I am a nerd okay? Don’t judge me.

Would I order it again? Hell Yes! This Daily Harvest Bowl is on the official DH Favorites List. YUM!!!

Roasted Eggplant + Red Pepper Caponata Harvest Bowls

Organic Ingredients:

  • Eggplant
  • Tomato
  • Zucchini
  • Almond
  • Kalamata Olive
  • Sultana Raisin

Yay Or Nay? Did I Like This Bowl

YAY!

I love olives, but don’t really fancy kalamata olives. I’m one of those girls who can pop open a jar of green or black olives, grab a handful and enjoy them straight away.

Kalamata are a bit too bitter for my linking, although they are a great addition to a lot of plant-based meals.

My first bite impression of this DH Harvest Bowl was “Okay, I like the crunch.” After about 3 bites in, I definitely tasted the Kalamata Olives and decided this bowl needed some Himalayan salt.

I did enjoy this bowl and ate it up happily, but would I order it again? No. This one didn’t make it onto my favorites list.

If you like kalamata olives and eggplant, then I think you’d enjoy this flavor combo. The crunch is delightful!

Lentil + Tomato Bolognese Harvest Bowls

Organic Ingredients:

  • Green Lentil
  • Tomato
  • Carrot
  • Kale
  • Basil
  • Black Garlic

Hmm...Did I Like This Bowl?

100% YES!

This harvest bowl has a strong lentil presence, so if you’re a fan, then you’ll love this one, too. If you don’t care for the taste of lentils, no matter how much seasoning you add, I suggest skipping this one.

My first bite impression? “Oh, that’s goooooood, but it needs some salt!” I did add pink himalayan salt after that first bite, by the way.

Oh and I’m typically NOT a salt kinda girl. So if I add it to my meals, I definitely use it to help add to those original flavors.

Would I order it again? Yep, I would. I’m not so sure about adding it to my favorite’s list though. It wouldn’t be the first bowl I’d reach for, if it was beside another harvest bowl that I enjoyed more.

Artichoke + Lemon Harvest Bowl

Organic Ingredients:

  • Parsnip
  • Kohlrabi
  • Fennel
  • Artichoke
  • Almond
  • Cumin

Yay Or Nay? Did I Like This Bowl

Yay, yes, yassss!

I loved this harvest bowl so much that I totally forgot to take a photo, before chowing down. Oops! I am a fennel and parsnip lover. I cannot get over their incredible, natural flavors so I jumped at the chance to try this bowl and was NOT disappointed.

My first bite impression was “Holy shit, this is GOOD.” Excuse my language, but it was THAT good. I practically shoveled the stuff into my mouth, without a second thought. Ha!

So…. would I order it again? No brainer. I’d eat this bowl every day of the week.

Sweet Potato + Wild Rice Hash Harvest Bowl

Organic Ingredients:

  • Tomato
  • Sweet Potato
  • Wild Rice
  • Great Northern Bean
  • Avocado
  • Maitake

Yep or Nope? Did I Like This Bowl

100% YEP!

I’m super obsessed with this Harvest Bowl. Double Y-U-M.

My first bite impression? “Mmmm. Get in my tummy!”

Would I order it again? Of course I would. This Daily Harvest Bowl also makes the favorite’s list.

I did end up adding pink salt to this bowl, as I’m typically a fan of using salt to bring out different flavor combinations, depending on the meal’s ingredients. I especially favor sweet potato, so right away, I loved this one.

Gigante Bean + Savoy Cabbage Harvest Bowls

Organic Ingredients:

  • Gigante Bean
  • Savoy Cabbage
  • Brussels Sprouts
  • Red Onion
  • Cumin
  • Oregano

Yes? No? Did I Like This Bowl

No, I didn’t.

I told ya I’d be honest and I really wanted to like this one. In fact I love all of the ingredients. It came down to texture for me. I am a huge texture person especially when it comes to food, so that played a big part in my decision.

My first bite impression of this DH Harvest Bowl was “Eh. It’s a bit paste-y / gritty.” It was a bit too thick for my personal preference.

Texture aside, I did like the flavor profile overall, but would I order it again? No. This one I didn’t even finish. As you can see I did try eating it with leafy green lettuce after taking a few bites of the bowl, alone.

If I did get this bowl again, I’d split it into two servings and add it as a topping to organic brown rice. OR maybe even blend it up into a “dip” by adding avocado, salt and lemon.

Perhaps eat it with veggie pita chips? Hmm, maybe I’ll give this bowl a second try?

  • Sultana Raisin
  • Za’Atar
  • Cordyceps

My first bite impression of this DH Harvest Bowl was “Okay, Daily Harvest. You’ve got my full attention!” I really liked this one y’all.

It’s a YEAAAAAAAHHHHH I would order it again!

I apologize for not having a photo of this one. I received this Daily Harvest Bowl in my very first shipment (see video above) and it was delightful. I absolutely love the flavor combinations in this one and the chickpeas helped fill me up, FAST.

It was delish.

Yes, I totally added it to my DH favorites list!
